Cultural heritage recording
Over the years, the cultural heritage of Greece, Europe and the whole world in general is lost or altered. Its conservation is necessary in order to ensure its authenticity, to be preserved over time and to allow it to receive the deserved public attention. Protection of cultural heritage results in taking all measures to protect cultural property against damage, destruction, theft, embezzlement or other loss.
A significant part of our work is the recording of the cultural heritage and the utilization of the the research findings through the production of digital products (CD, DVD, archive sound and video material, music productions, videos, interviews, etc.), for further promotion or publication in relevant websites.
To Whom we are addressing to
We are addressing to Education Institutes, Universities, Research Centers and Cultural Foundations interested for recording, publicizing and promoting the historical and cultural heritage of Greece and the wider European area and for the preservation of local traditions or other similar projects.
Reasons that lead to the recording of the cultural heritage
- Preservation of the cultural heritage of a group or society:
The cultural heritage of a group or society is the legacy that is inherited from past generations, it is what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations. Its preservation is necessary so that the next generations will know it and use it. The development of technology, the ability to record audio and video in digital format that is unchanged over time allows its rescue.
- Promotion and exposure of the cultural heritage of a group or society
The main goal of all the actions is not only to rescue and preserve the heritage, but also to make it widely known, make it approachable and appreciated from the people of every country in the world. That way, their special cultural profile and history of a country or society is underlined.
Basic stages, we apply are:
- Communication with the organization or institution involved, analysis of the project, its goal and the desired, expected result.
- Pre-production. During this stage we organise and prepare the project in order to ensure the smooth implementation of the project. We preview on location to identify possible problems and solve them in advance. We are informed by the organization or institution involved for the timetable and the stages of the project. We are informed by the institution about the schedule that describes the stages and we contact all parties involved. Depending on the requirements of each project, we adjust the pre-production stage.
- Production - Implementation of the project. We accomplish the stages of recording, editing, mixing and creating the final requested digital products in the acoustically treated mixing room of our company Sound is Art.
